Can You Rappel Off A Cliff With a Rope Made of Duct Tape?

It's crazy to think that people have actually escaped from prison with ropes made of bedsheets. These are facts. But I wanted to know what other bullshit I could use to make a rope out of and send it down a 100 foot cliff.
Now obviously with enough of any material you can make it happen. But I wanted to play it close to the edge so after figuring out how to make some of the ropes JUST strong enough hold all 175 pounds of Col. But man there were quite a few challenges not shown in the video.
Me and Ray showed up to the crag names Hitler's Sex Life. We scampered up to the top of the route that I would attempt to rappel own (called Yo Mamma, Osama) and Ray realized there weren't any appropriate points to use as an anchor. To make matters worse, I already had to bail shooting the previous two weekends due to single digit temperatures and a surprise duping of 7 inches of snow. We only had a couple hours until the forecast showed up to 80 mph gusts of wind and our two options were to head back 15 minutes to grab some additional rope and gear OR explore additional crags in the area for better anchor points. Ultimately I opted for the known over the unknown and we rushed to our buddy's place near by to borrow his static rope and got things rolling.
I genuinely believed that the damn ropes would work! Well, except for the christmas lights. That was more for shits and giggles. But man when that wind started whipping around, it made things feel so much sketchier on the cliff face. If you've never been climbing there this term called feeling exposed. It's like, normally the height doesn't make you afraid, but ad an 80 mph gust of wind to that and you might just shit your pants.
Anyways, none of the ropes worked and it was way too windy for the bedsheets. I honestly couldn't believe I didn't even think about the wind factor until Ray brought up just how much force it was pulling a thing 10mm rope. It was just showing how much damage that wind hitting a few bedsheets could do!
Welp, another great adventure and fun video. I hope you'll check it out!
